We are seeking an Azure Databricks Data Engineer who is looking to take the next step in their career by moving into a leadership-focused role. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to go beyond hands-on coding and take ownership of solution oversight, best practices, and compliance-working closely with Systems Integrators (SIs) to ensure cost-effective, well-optimised Azure Databricks environments.
Role Overview:
As an Azure Databricks Data Engineer, you will:
✅ Oversee Azure Databricks solutions, ensuring best practices in coding, architecture, and cost efficiency
✅ Act as a Compliance & QA lead, reviewing the work of the SI to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness
✅ Ensure clusters and configurations are correctly set up and optimised for efficiency
✅ Work alongside Solution Architects to align Databricks usage with business needs and technical requirements
✅ Hold the SI accountable for delivering high-quality, scalable, and efficient solutions
✅ Gain valuable upskilling opportunities while learning new technologies and leadership skills
What We're Looking For:
🔹 Strong Azure Databricks experience, ideally as a Data Engineer
🔹 A desire to step into leadership, guiding teams and challenging the SI to improve best practices
🔹 Understanding of Azure Databricks coding, architecture, and cost optimisation
🔹 Someone with a positive, proactive attitude who can engage with the SI and suggest better approaches
🔹 Experience in solution compliance, performance tuning, and governance is a plus
