About the Company:
Conexus are working with a leading company at the forefront of innovation and technology - we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Kubernetes Architect to drive the design and implementation of scalable, modular, and secure service architectures within an advanced Kubernetes environment.
Position Overview:
As a Senior Kubernetes Architect, you will collaborate closely with product owners, architects, and other internal stakeholders to define and develop robust service architectures. You will translate high-level requirements into detailed, scalable designs, create proofs of concept (POCs), and guide the engineering team through implementation. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that the Kubernetes-based services are efficient, secure, and aligned with business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product owners and architects to gather and clarify requirements, translating them into well-defined service architectures for PRM and SME within the service framework.
- Develop modular, scalable, and maintainable technical designs based on these requirements, documenting and maintaining them throughout the product lifecycle.
- Create POCs to validate the feasibility and functionality of your designs, integrating relevant system components and new developments.
- Support the engineering team by refining designs and incorporating insights gained from POCs, ensuring that designs are clear and executable.
- Assist the DevOps team with architecture and design-related questions during implementation, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all developed services, fostering collaboration within the Service Product Line and other teams.
- Work with security teams to ensure that Kubernetes security best practices are adhered to and vulnerabilities are addressed.
Qualifications:
- Strong experience in software and distributed system development with the ability to design and build POCs swiftly.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD workflows, IaC, and GitOps tools.
- Hands-on experience with at least one public cloud platform and Kubernetes administration, including upgrade and migration (in self-managed clusters).
- Proficiency in Cloud-Native technologies, Kubernetes-related tooling, and architecture patterns like microservices, event sourcing, and load throttling.
- Experience with major Kubernetes platforms such as Rancher, OpenShift, Tanzu, or MKE, including implementing Kubernetes cluster provisioning via CAPI.
- Strong understanding of container technology and Kubernetes networking, as well as experience with Service Mesh technologies.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
