Conexus are currently partnered with a leading pharmaceutical client that are developing their security function across Europe, and are currently searching for a Security Solutions Engineer with extensive experience in Azure and ZScaler to join them on a permanent basis from the UK. This role is remote, with their office being based in Manchester.

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Security Solutions Engineer and Administrator to join our client's Cyber Security Team on a permanent basis. This role involves the development, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of a variety of security tools and solutions aimed at safeguarding the company from cyber threats and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Cyber Security Architects and IT/OT infrastructure teams across multiple locations to implement and maintain security tools and solutions.
  • Ensure security measures align with best practices and vendor guidelines.
  • Handle day-to-day security administration tasks, including troubleshooting, configuration changes, user access management, API maintenance, data feed operations, version updates, security patching, and more.
  • Monitor and analyse security logs and alerts, respond to security incidents, and address vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain up-to-date administrative procedures, working instructions, and knowledge articles.
  • Educate and train end-users on security solutions.
  • Adhere to information security controls and participate in assessments and audits.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in engineering, deploying, and administering security solutions, especially in highly regulated IT environments.
  • Expertise in various security products and technologies such as email security, SIEM/XDR/EDR, NGFWs/IDPs, network security analytics, SASE, WAF, identity and access management, OT threat management, and data protection.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with a passion for cyber security.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting, demonstrating excellent time management and productivity.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional IT experience, with at least 5 years as a security engineer and administrator, preferably within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or manufacturing industries.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Security or Information Technology.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISSP-ISSAP, and others.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, PowerShell, Bash, SQL, and Perl.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of German is advantageous.
  • High level of personal integrity and professionalism in handling confidential matters.
  • Experience working within a matrixed and geographically dispersed organization.
  • Familiarity with USA NIST NICE Framework roles, specifically Systems Security Specialist and System Administrator.
