I am currently working with a Financial Services company who are looking for a Head of SRE to provide assitance on a critical project!

Role: Head of SRE
Rate: €950 to €1200 per day
Location: Barcelona (Potentially remote)
Duration: 6 months

The Role
As the Head of SRE, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance for my client's systems. This is a hands-on leadership role, where you will guide a team of engineers, manage complex projects, and drive innovation in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and grow the SRE team to deliver high-performing, reliable systems.
Design, implement, and optimise infrastructure for scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Own the observability stack, including extensive use of Grafana for monitoring and alerting.
Oversee cloud infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Azure services.
Drive end-to-end project leadership, from design to delivery.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, and leadership) to align infrastructure goals with business objectives.
Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
Respond to and resolve incidents to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.

MUST HAVE
Experience: Proven track record in SRE/DevOps roles, with hands-on experience in startups or scale-ups.

Technical Expertise: Extensive experience with Grafana, Azure cloud services, Kubernetes, Terraform (or other IaC tools), and CI/CD pipelines.

Leadership Skills: A hands-on leader who can inspire teams and take ownership of critical projects.

Mindset: Entrepreneurial, proactive, and thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Certifications: Azure and Kubernetes certifications are a plus.
